Need to tag team with buddy Vincent on this take! But the mainline gave way thereafter! what a waste!

Somehow somehow got onto another trip out to TP again for one last bash before the monsoon sets in.

Just a couple of photos to remember this so so trip, or rather a trip I would want to forget!

The catch was quite pathetic.

Managed to get a last minute trip out to TP again on one of Elly's Boat.
Hmmm...just realised that last year on the same date, wife and me embarked on a 3D2N fishing trip to TP. It was our wedding anniversary. Somehow, this year, we are going for it again.
It is just that this year, its only for a 2D1N trip.

Hope to post a good CR when i return from the trip.

31 Aug to 2 Sep 2007 - Pulau Ketam, Klang Offshore Fishing

After all the hypes pertaining to this trip........Look at our charter!...Kanna snooked big time.....this our fishing boat! Looks more like a river cruise boat to me. No baits provided, no drinking water provided, no ice provided, no NOTHING! Caught a couple of Ah Sengs, Guramas, Baby stingrays, and i caught a palm size Ang Kuey!

Did not even bother to take pictures of our catches!

Walking along one of the "main streets" of Pulau Ketam, does bring back memories of Singapore when i was a small kid....

Nice pictures to remember the place and the kakis. Thats about all lah!

Next time if visit the place, will just go R&R, seems quite many activties to check out.

Should be better than offshore fishing!

Nite Offshore Fishing @ Johore Shoals 18 Aug 2007

6 of us when for this trip.. My first time trying local offshore fishing at nite. Landeda snapper and the tiny grouper. I gotten a strike when the boatman wants to change spot when retrieving my line, the fish kept diving, was a pretty strong take, ahhhhhhhh lost it, reeled back to find my leader broke very near the hook......This was what we caught.

First time offshore angler foul hook the 6kg Queenie.. Noticed the stain on his shirt? Yes, he vo.......

Nice trip I must say, really looking to arrange for another trip soon!

What a Day for Fishing!

11 Aug 2007.

Somehow managed to grab 5 slots to do offshore fishing off Changi waters.....YES!
Day started early about 715am when one of my kakis picked us up along the way...
Got into the car only to find out one of them got his fishing rod snapped accidently near the rod tip by another kaki who was closing the car door shut....thinking to myself...bad sign or what?

Kept an optimistic thought, todays weather and tide looks good.....
finally started fishing at first spot.....drop my line....then kanna sangkot...dammed.....
No bites no nibbles no nothing...

Change spot by the boatman, halfway to second spot, boat engine got problem....got to end the trip.....woah sianzzzzz......

Got back to land. decided among kakis to try pond fishing, after going to Changi to get some makan and my kaki's rod tip repaired, we headed for the pay pond....on the way there, it started to rain....and boy, it rained!...so no choice, called it a day....reached home, showered and zzzzzzzzzzz........

A day for fishing? I think not! Not at All!

Miss Offshore Fishing

Really miss offshore fishing....just do only pond fishing to stop the itch..

Last boat trip somewhere early this year off Changi.
Whole day just caught 1 x 2kg grouper only...

End August going offshore again! This time in West Coast of Malaysia. Do understand that west coast is not as productive as the east coast. Nonetheless, really looking forward to it.

GameFishing - A Hobby or A Sport?

Since my last trip to offshore fishing in Tanjung Pinang, Indonesia, I have been invited to join some of my kakis on "bigger" gamefishing and longer trips, 5days4nights LOB(Live On Board). Fishes expected will be in excess of 20kgs and above....

As the sheer size of the targeted fishes, i would need heavier fishing gears in terms of poundage.
Some questions already came to my mind:

1) Do I have the physical strength to handle the weight of the fishing gears and fish on board for a few days? Will my stamina last so long including handling the rock and roll of the sea?

2) Do I have the physical strength to fight this size of fishes? If YES, how long would i be able to withstand the sheer might and run of this pelagic fishes. If NO, should i go to a gym to work out my triceps and biceps prior to such a fishing trip?

This triggers my thoughts, GameFishing, is it a hobby or a sport?

First Time Fishing in Tanjung Pinang 2006

Wife and me went on our first offshore fishing trip in Tanjung Pinang 6th to 8th October 2006.
4th Oct 2006 was our customary wedding day, its like a simple belated anniversary celebration.
Fishing setup in picture was hers (fixed spool-right of pix)and mine(multiplier).
Also our first offshore fishing gears!
Guess there is a first for everything in life!
